Since summer has kicked in, I kind of forgot about doing my "picks" of the week. It occurred to me on Monday (see I'm late again) that I was hardly blogging. You would think summer would do the opposite effect...seeing as there is more time during the day to waste...but no. All next week I will be out, spending a week at WINDY GAP IN NORTH CAROLINA! I'm so thankful I get the opportunity to spend time away from home, with high school kids, back at Young Life property and get crazy! There will probably be a heavy post when I get home about how much I miss the food, community and good weather (this is your warning). As I'm thinking about what to pack for that trip, I wouldn't mind packing for a trip to the beach. Here's what I picked out:

Last week when stormpocalypse was happening I was far too lazy to gather together a room that inspired me nor clothes that I wanted to wear (that sounded bad, I did wear clothes last week). So now that it's 80 degree(plus) weather and finals are this week, I picked the perfect spot to study while being cute:

If you haven't checked out Anthro's new spring catalog, I HIGHLY suggest it, because its nothing but beautiful clothes I want to earnbutcan'taffordsoilljustlookatthemwithdesperation. Anyways...I was inspired by the outdoor porch with the chair I'd love to sit in.

I also chose three different shirts (all JCrew; vintage cotton white tee, red racerback tank, stripe button-back tee) because I think either could go with these comfy looking broken-in boyfriend chino pants also from JCrew. Pair that with the astria suede sandals (JCrew), casbah scarf (JCrew) or the woven straw fedora (JCrew). End with mini riley watch (Fossil). Let's put it this way... I want something from JCrew!

Know the saying, "April showers bring May flowers!", well that is currently happening all across Texas I believe because this past weekend has been all about it. But when the warm weather continues through the night it makes me want to settle in a space like this:

I want to curl up with Water for Elephants (which p.s., saw the movie and totally recommend! i will probably see it again this week and i already KNOW i'm going to purchase it)

And in other good news: I got accepted into the Visual Arts Studies program at UNT!!!!!!!!!! It's a relief, praise, delight, joy and I'm so excited to continue this pursuit in becoming an art teacher!

I feel like we're going to encounter every type of weather this week. During the night I slept through a thunderstorm, but woke up thinking there was going to be a tornado. Tonight has been chilly on campus and by the end of the week we should be expecting more thunderstorms. Tomorrow though, most likely, will be upper 80's so I will want to lay out.

Texas is so inconsistent, sometimes I hate that.

Here is what I've proposed for what the weather may bring, because who knows! I also don't like to rely on what the weathermen/weather.com has to say, I just wait.

So there is something for the chilly, rainy, warm and indoor day!
